We are currently recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Community Transition Unit (CTU) at Central Regional Hospital (CRH). The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the administration of medication and ordered treatments; data collection for nursing care; monitoring, observing and performing direct patient care as needed for coverage. Job responsibilities include the following:
Report and document patient's response to medications, treatment and ordered care.
Collaboration and delegation of tasks under the licensure of a Registered Nurse.
Community Transition Unit (CTU): CTU serves patients 18-64 who are transferred from one of the acute admission units for long term treatment aimed at reducing and managing their symptoms while strengthening life skills needed to successfully return to community living.
This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal working hours are 1st shift, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled. This position is considered essential during adverse weather and expectations will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Graduation from an accredited course in Practical Nursing with the accompanying license to practice authenticated by the NC Board of Nursing.
Must possess proficiency in written and verbal English.
Management prefers knowledge of practical nursing techniques and routine care and treatment of psychiatric patients. Knowledge of 6 rights of medication administration, including the ability to recognize and report contraindication, side effects and therapeutic results.
ADA and other physical requirements will be discussed during the interview process, but include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
