Description of Work Central Regional Hospital Where Caring is Contagious! We are currently recruiting for a Health Care Technician I that will function as a Therapeutic Support Specialist II (TSS II) at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) on the Forensic Services Unit. The primary purpose of this position is to monitor patients and perform technical procedures (within scope of practice). Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
Obtaining vital signs.
Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Assisting with hospital/unitbased programming.
Engaging patients in behavioral activities.
Following physician ordered patient care.
All healthcare duties are delegated by and completed under the supervisor of a Licensed Nurse.
There are multiple vacancies on various shifts forForensic Maximum/Pretrial (A0) and Forensic Medium (B0).Available shifts include Monday-Friday with alternating weekends and holidays as scheduled.
These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. These positions are considered essential and employees will beexpected to workduring adverse weather events.

These positions requires that employees be CNA / NA I certified by the North Carolina Division of HealthService Regulation. If applicants are not CNA / NA I certified and are selected for the position, training will be offered. However, certification must be obtained and employees must pass and maintain all facility required training as a condition of employment.
Must haveCPR, NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) and other facility credentials/certifications. If applicants do not these credentials/certifications, training will be offered and continued employment contingent upon obtaining credentials/certifications.
Previous experience in a psychiatric or correctional facility providing direct care services.
Must be able to write and speak English proficiently.
Must have a validdriver's license orability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed during interview but include: lifting, kneeling, walking up and down stairs, ability to perform CPR, NVCI, APT (applied physical technique)and lifting of 50 pounds. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
