Occ Summary

Plan and provide professional nursing care fo r patients in accordancewith the medical and nursing plans of care and e stablished policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients andfamilies inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the Nort hCarolinaBoard of Nursing.


Work Performed

Plan, provi de and document professional nursing care, utilizing thenursing process, in accordancewith physician orders and establishedpolicies and procedures under the supervision of the team leader orcharge nurse.Delegate task s and supervise the activities of other licensed andunlicensed care prov iders.Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care. Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipmentan d material resources. Prioritize work organization and identifyresources available to assist in completing components of care in atimely manner.P articipate in own professional development by maintaining requiredcompet encies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassistance ore ducational offerings.Support the development of other staff and formalle arners.Participate in the identification of clinical or operational perf ormanceimprovement opportunities and assist in performance improvementac tivities.Perform other related duties incidentalto the work described h erein.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.

Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
